My Story

Growing up in India, a culturally diverse nation, I developed a distinctive worldview. I discovered that each person possesses a unique narrative, and it is crucial to embrace new perspectives and ideas with an open mind.

From my early years, I held a natural inclination towards design, and as time passed, my fascination only deepened. Whether constructing small models with Lego blocks or expressing my ideas on canvas and paper, my passion for art and design became evident. With this, I saw Architecture as the intersection of various fields of study. Choosing to pursue a Bachelor's in Architecture was a direct result of this belief.

Throughout the undergrad coursework, my design perceptions evolved through experimentation. I realized that designing was not just putting ideas on paper but had a deeper connection with user needs. As a student of Architecture, I worked on various projects and assignments that helped me strengthen my design principles.

Later...

After completing my undergrad in Architecture, I worked on several projects as a freelance Architect and Visual Designer. From drafting technical (GFC) drawings to designing interiors of luxury apartments, I gained diverse experience in transforming conceptual designs into tangible and aesthetically pleasing spaces. However, I repeatedly found myself asking - How can one design suffice multiple user needs? Will it be able to cater to the users' changing needs? These questions helped me envision a broader perspective while designing.

During this period, I found myself consistently fascinated by the advancements in IT and digitization. Given their capacity to seamlessly extend networked environments into our living spaces, I delved deeper into studying the impact of this transformative change. I believed that technology, when fused with analytical design, would allow us to reshape our world in new ways. To get a better understanding of how technology and design would help solve peoples' problems, I completed Google's UX Design Certificate course on Coursera. Interacting with professionals in UX design, information design, and data visualization sparked a keen interest in further exploring this field.

Upon coming to the US for my Masters, I am driven to excel in my career by merging analytical design with cutting-edge technology. I envision reshaping our world through innovative solutions. My journey, rooted in a diverse cultural background, fuels my passion to create designs that address dynamic user needs, ultimately contributing to the intersection of technology and human experience.

Beyond my design pursuits, I am a Cricket enthusiast and enjoy engaging in various other sports such as Badminton, Table Tennis, and Chess. Cooking is another hobby I indulge in, experimenting with different food ingredients. This interest prompted me to secure an on-campus job at a cafe (B.Good). Balancing this role with my studies was a challenging yet rewarding experience.

Working at the cafe provided me with valuable insights into customer service and hospitality. It not only honed my ability to handle customer interactions but also offered practical lessons in the intricacies of providing excellent service. This experience outside the realm of design has contributed significantly to my personal and professional growth.
